That’s what legal services are for eligible members of the Legal Plan of Local 282. Even though the Legal Plan has been in existence since 1979, many members have either not known this benefit existed, or not taken advantage of it.
All should have a will, power of attorney and health care directive. No doubt members at times have been confronted with what could be a legal problem and have failed to seek competent legal advice.
There are many other instances where legal representation is necessary and yet members have failed to take advantage of this benefit, such as a house closing, estate problems, and unfortunately a domestic or criminal situation. The Legal Plan provides for competent legal representation for the members to handle such matters on your behalf.
Lastly, be assured that no matter what the matter is, it will be kept confidential in accord with the attorney-client privilege of confidentiality. We are ethically bound to this privilege and cannot disclose to anyone why you have consulted our office.
